My Freshly Brewed Life: The Light Of His Face

The Light Of His Face

I promised to share a few of the revelations that God gave to me while I was at the Kansas City International House of Prayer.  This is one of them, but I feel like I am just scratching the surface on this revelation. So there may be more to come as God reveals it to me.

So, I was sitting in the Prayer Room and I was reading my Bible.  I had it opened to this verse:
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5)
I remember sitting there thinking to myself,
"If God is light, and there is no darkness in Him, and I am in Christ, meaning I have a relationship with Him, then why at times do I continue to allow unbelief, unhealthy mindsets and untruth to cloud my mind. I want to walk in the light.  I want my walk with the Lord to be one of confidence, knowing that I know, that I know, that I know that He is with me.  Why do I still get so insecure?  Why can't I just believe that everything I read in His Word was written for me?"
Before I received revelation about the lies I was believing, and how it hurt God's heart for me to even allow myself to think those things, because when I did, it accused Him of not being good, I was at times allowing myself to walk in darkness.  When I gave into the lies, believing them, and clothed myself with untruth, I was not walking in the light, as He is in the light.  Was God still with me in those times?  Yes!  His Word says He will never leave me, but because He is light, and no darkness can exist in the presence of light, I wonder how much of His presence I was walking in during those times.

I want to walk in the fullness of His light, in the light of His truth.  I want His face to shine upon me, so that I can see Him for who He truly is, so that I will be illuminated with the light of His truth.  I must allow this light to seep deep into my mind and bring transformation.  I have been stuck in old mindsets, negative thoughts and unbelief in many areas of my life for far too long.  I want His light to invade my heart, mind and soul in it's fullness and drive out the darkness.  Darkness can not exist where there is light.  It's as simple as turning on the light switch in a dark room...the darkness immediately flees!

Here is a song by Misty Edwards called "Light Of Your Face".  It is a prayer for God to come and shine the light of His face on us.  And He will do that.  But we must first seek His face and seek to be overwhelmed by the light of His truth.

(Please mute the music player at the top so you can hear this song!)
Today, my prayer has been that the light of His face would shine upon me so that His truth would flood every ounce of my being, so that the darkness, the untruth, the unbelief, the wrong mindsets will have to flee. I love this scripture in Psalms that talks about the light of His face.  I don't remember reading this before:
They did not conquer the land with their swords; it was not their own strong arm that gave them victory. It was your right hand and strong arm and the blinding light from your face that helped them, for you loved them. (Psalm 44:3)
It is not with weapons or with our own might that we will win the war over our unhealthy thoughts and beliefs, but it is with the light of His face!   So today I am seeking more of Him because I want the light of His countenance to shine upon me, so that no thought, action or belief that is contrary to the Word of God will be able to stand in the light of His presence.
I see your mercy in front of me. I walk in the light of your truth. (Psalm 26:3)
Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live. (Psalm 43:3)
For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life. (Psalm 56:13)
Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, LORD. (Psalm 89:15)
May you seek His face today, and may He shine forth His light upon you so that nothing but truth remains.
